Ankylosing spondylitis

Ankylosing spondylitis (AS)

Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is an ama type of inflammatory arthritis that primarily affects the spine or back. In AS, the joints and ligaments of the spine get inflamed. The inflammation later turns to a vata-rakta nature, resulting in pain and stiffness that may progress into the upper spine, chest and neck. As it progresses to the inner dhatus, the joints of vertebrae may grow and fuse, causing the spine to become rigid and inflexible. Other joints, such as the hips, shoulders and knees may also be affected.

Ankylosing spondylitis is a systemic disease, which means it may affect the organs. In Ayurveda, no disease is considered organ-specific. So treating the patient as a whole rather than the disease is the rule.We in Vedagram follows the same rule and has the best ayurvedic management for Ankylosing spondylitis.
